Making a mistake on your Nigehban Card or PSER registration can lead to an “Ineligible” status or a delay in receiving your Rs. 10,000 relief. The Punjab government has provided several ways to correct data before the final lists are locked for the peak Ramzan distribution.
Correction via the PSER Portal (Most Effective)
If you made a typo in your income, family size, or address on the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER), you can update it online.
- Step 1: Log in to pser.punjab.gov.pk using your registered CNIC and password.
- Step 2: Go to your Dashboard or Profile section.
- Step 3: Look for the “Edit” or “Update Information” button.
- Step 4: Correct the errors (especially monthly income and family members).
- Step 5: Re-submit and save the new Tracking ID.
Fixing SMS Errors (8070 / 9999)
Many rejections happen because of simple formatting errors in the SMS.
- The SIM Problem: Ensure the SMS is sent from a SIM registered in your own CNIC. The system automatically ignores messages from “unauthorized” numbers.
- The Format: Type only the 13 digits of your CNIC. Do not use dashes, spaces, or extra words like “Nigehban.”
- The Timing: If you don’t get a reply, don’t send multiple messages. This can flag your CNIC for “spam.” Instead, wait 24 hours and try again during off-peak hours (e.g., 2 AM to 7 AM).
Manual Correction at Government Offices
If the online portal doesn’t allow you to change a specific field (like a locked CNIC number), you must visit a physical office for biometric-linked correction:
- Assistant Commissioner (AC) Office: Every tehsil has a dedicated Nigehban/Ramzan desk to handle manual complaints.
- Union Council (UC): Your local UC Secretary can often help update your household status in the provincial database if your poverty score (PMT) was calculated incorrectly due to old data.
Common Mistakes That Lead to Rejection
